We offer economical lodging with a private cooking option (see below) and a great location - a place where you can get away, relax and have fun.

Our guest suite is a pleasant, private place to call home for a few days, a week, a month.

There is a cheerful bedroom with a double bed...

You can cook for yourself in the kitchenette, which includes a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and hot plate. Dishes and utensils are provided.

Relax and entertain in your large living room. The comfortable furnishings include a computer desk (we have wireless Internet)...

You can hike or browse at art galleries all day and socialize downtown in the evening. Bring your art and writing to work on. Asheville is full of inspiration. You're also welcome to join us for our Women's Poetry Group on the first Sunday of the month.

Festival of Flowers. April 5 - May 18. Biltmore Estate's annual festival that features its extensive gardens and flowering bulbs, such as its tulip display.

Scenic Spring Drives. Check this site for 11 mountain drives aroundAsheville to see spring splendor!

Asheville Tourists - that's the name of our minor league baseball team! Season now thru Sept at McCormick Field in Asheville, on the edge of downtown.

Montford Arts and Music Festival. May 17. Fifth annual festival in one of Asheville's oldest and most diverse neighborhoods.

Fletcher Flyer. May 18. Full, metric and half-century bike rides through the valleys just south of Asheville.

Mountain Sports Festival. May 30 - June 1. Annual multi-sportevent in Asheville. It's incredible!

Asheville Art Walks. June 6, Aug 1, Oct 3. Seasonal tours of the many downtown galleries. Very popular with locals and visitors. 5 - 8pm.

Guild Fair on the Parkway. June 7 at the Folk Art Center. Annual event with craft booths, live music and food, artists from the Southern Highland Craft Guild.

Black Mountain Arts and Craft Show. June 7 and 8. Tenth annual event in Black Mountain, just east of Asheville.

Keowee Chamber Music Festival. June 8 thru 12. Ashevillebased group gives multiple performances in Asheville.

Time for Our Power. June 20-22. Inaugural women's empowerment conference in Asheville. Jane Fonda will be the keynote speaker.

Mountain Farm and Garden Tour. June 28 and 29. 13th annual tour of 25 farms around Asheville.

Folkmoot USA. July 14-27. In and around Asheville. Annual, wildly popular, international dance festival.

Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands. July 17-20. 61st annual craft event and among the biggest in the Southeast.

Bele Chere. July 25-27. This annual event in downtown Asheville issaid to be the largest music street festival in the Southeast. This year is the 30th!

Shindig on the Green. June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, Aug 9, Aug 16, Aug 23, Aug 30. Free mountain music and dance shows near downtown Asheville.

Mountain Dance and Folk Festival. July 31 - Aug 2. 81st annual mountain entertainment extravaganza in downtown Asheville.

North Carolina Apple Festival. August 29-Sept 1. Hendersonville.

RiverSculpture Festival. Sept 1 thru Nov 30. Annual contemporary outdoor sculpture exhibition at an Asheville park. Always features funky and whimsical creations.

North Carolina Mountain State Fair. Sept 5-14. Near the Asheville airport.

True Nature Country Fair. Sept 26 -28. In Mills River, just south of Asheville. A celebration of organic and sustainable products and resources from around the Southeast. Sponsored by the Organic Growers School of Asheville.

Asheville Green Drinks Every Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, people gather at BoBo Gallery, 22 Lexington St., downtown Asheville. This is part of an international green drinks networking activity to regularly bring together a variety of people with an interest in environmental issues. Organic wines and beers will be available. There is usually a presentation if you are interested - or you can sit at the bar and network.

Mainstage Series at Diana Wortham Theatre at Asheville's Pack Place downtown. A great variety of music, dance, comedy and other entertainment through spring 2008.

Asheville Pizza & Brewing Company: always $2 movies, live music and other fun stuff.

Malaprop's Bookstore/Cafe - readings, book signings, critique groups, poetry events, and live music in downtown Asheville.

We're just the place for your home base when you visit the Asheville area.

Located a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, just 10 minutes to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate and winery, we're also a mile from I-40 and I-240.

Downtown Asheville is a place you won't want to miss! Start at the Chamber of Commerce, where you can get brochures and information about the area.

Before you come, check out Sheville.org. This special site for women will help you plan your trip.

The nearest hiking trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway is fewer than two miles from Lovers' Loop Retreat.

Another couple of miles down the parkway will put you at the beautiful Folk Art Center, which is operated by the Southern Highland Craft Guild.

Excellent dining options are so numerous, you may never want to take advantage of our cooking and dining area!
